Sierra Murray, LMSW (she/her)
Program Manager
Sierra fell in love with food as a conduit for community building and social change at a young age while watching her mother cook for dinner parties and tend to vegetables in the garden. She brought this love to Cornell University as an undergraduate student, where she focused her studies on community development and food security. She continued on with graduate studies at the Columbia University School of Social Work, where she dove into learning practical skills on providing social services to historically marginalized communities.
Sierra’s experience spans from managing a commercial kitchen at a summer camp in the Catskills, organizing community gardens at food pantries, and providing clinical social work services to families in East Harlem. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Development Sociology and is a Licensed Master Social Worker. In her free time, Sierra likes to watercolor, walk her dog, and prepare shared meals with her friends and family.
