Sarah joined Plated as Associate General Counsel, Senior Director of Legal Affairs in July 2018. Prior to Plated, Sarah spent five years as Associate General Counsel for Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG), where she advised USHG on a wide range of legal and business matters relating to the operation of fine dining and fast casual restaurants, catering and private events, concessions, and food and beverage consulting. Sarah also served as Director of Job Placement for USHG’s Community Council, driving alternative recruiting efforts with organizations representing underserved populations. Danny, his restaurants and chefs have earned 25 James Beard Awards, including Outstanding Restaurant of the Year, Outstanding Service, Outstanding Wine Service, Humanitarian of the Year, Who’s Who of Food & Beverage and Best Restaurant Design.
Sarah was a litigation associate at Kramer, Levin, Naftalis & Frankel LLP before joining USHG. In this role, Sarah handled a wide range of litigation matters in a variety of legal areas, including commercial disputes, false advertising, white collar criminal defense, employment, asylum and immigration.
Sarah has a B.A. in Government from Cornell University and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Sarah serves on the Penn Law Alumni Society’s Board of Managers. She is actively involved with the Association of Corporate Counsel and the New York City Bar Association, and is a co-founder of Hospitality Counsel, a networking group of in-house hospitality attorneys based in the New York area.
