Riley Janeway

Development Associate

Riley has always loved building community and cultural understanding through food. She is excited to join the Emma’s Torch team, bringing with her a background in nonprofit advocacy, campaign fundraising, and the hospitality industry. Riley first moved to DC to pursue criminal justice policy reform while working with the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. After an opportunity arose to move back to her home state for a political campaign, she temporarily returned to Vermont, where she became immersed in the world of political fundraising. Most recently, Riley has been pursuing her love for food full-time while working in the food service industry. She has worked at a variety of restaurants and cafes in the city as a server, baker, and prep cook.

When she is not at Emma’s Torch, Riley loves to bake and cook, rock climb, travel to new places, craft, spend time with her loved ones, and explore the outdoors.
