April Hayes
Front of House Manager
April joined the Emma's Torch team in July of 2023, bringing over twenty years of management, training and front of house experience having worked in the hospitality industry in various capacities: server, bartending, and management.
Over the course of her career, April has opened four restaurants with the most recent being Pink Taco-DC, a Mexican restaurant located in Navy Yard, where she performed as both the Operations Manager and Bar Manager. Prior to Pink Taco, April was instrumental in helping to execute craft cocktail programs in the DC area at such establishments like Fig & Olive, an upscale, casual French restaurant with a Mediterranean influence, Charlie Palmer's award winning, fine dining steak house, and family-owned Ben's Upstairs and Ten01.
Mixology being a deep passion, April is an avid beverage stylist, writer/blogger and practicing photographer, enthusiastically creating eye-popping libations that embrace atypical flavors to elevate the imbibing experience. Other fun things outside of work include: boxing, farmer's market surfing, shoe shopping, traveling and her favorite, gathering friends together for a culinary wind-down.
