Alix Haber (she/her)

DC Area Director & Chief Operating Officer

Alix joins Emma's Torch after ten years with nonprofits and a social enterprise. Most recently, she was Chief Operating Officer at Foodhini, an online restaurant in Washington, DC that hires immigrant and refugee chefs and delivers authentic multicultural meals. Alix helped turn Foodhini from a newly-launched company into a strong organization and a great place to work. Alix also worked for the Capital Area Food Bank, the largest hunger relief organization in the Washington, DC area, and Shining Hope for Communities, a grassroots organization in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya that provides a great education for girls and critical services for the entire community.

Alix loves traveling, hiking, backpacking, and anything outdoors – and thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2011. She has a Masters in Public Administration from NYU Wagner's School of Public Service.
