Emma's Torch and José Andrés
Teaching new Americans culinary skills…and beyond
New Partnership: The Longer Tables Fund by José Andrés
We’re thrilled to share that The Longer Tables Fund by José Andrés has joined Emma’s Torch as our Lead Partner in our growth across the D.C. region.
This partnership is about more than bricks and mortar. It’s about building a stronger future together — one where more students can train for meaningful careers, more employers can connect with great talent, and more neighbors can come together around the table.
“To me, the American Dream has always been about creating the same opportunities for others that you seek for yourself," said José Andrés. "I am proud to support Emma’s Torch as they use culinary training to make restaurants a beacon of hope, empowerment, and belonging in the greater DC community.”
With Longer Tables Fund’s support, we’re opening a flagship Silver Spring hub in 2026, expanding and scaling our impact while deepening our community connections.
“This partnership is about dignity, opportunity, and community,” says Kerry Brodie, our Founder and Executive Director. “Together, we’ll open doors for more students and more neighbors in the region.”
We can’t wait to share more updates as we grow in the D.C. metropolitan area. Thank you for being part of this journey.
