Ellie Alter

Development Coordinator

Ellie has worked closely with refugees in New York– her native city–for the last four years. During this time, Ellie co-led the Refugee and Immigrant Fund, managing grants and providing legal and psychosocial assistance to asylum seekers. Starting as an urban farmer at Brooklyn Grange, she became inspired by the power of food to connect refugees to their new communities.

Ellie is currently a Master’s candidate at New York University’s Center for Experimental Humanities and Social Engagement, and a Gallatin Global Human Rights Fellow.
